Do you have a sewing machine? If so, what do you have? If not, would a live session to talk about how to choose a good quality starter sewing machine be helpful to you?

@Karol OSteen I have the Singer M3400 also. Sadly the bobbin case is not made very well (at least on mine) and it did not last very long for me. I’ve looked into replacing it but haven’t yet. These are the 3 particular machines that I regularly recommend for beginners and 2 of them are Singers. I still believe in the brand But that particular model did not stand the test Of time for me. I know people who have these machines in the photo and love them. I am considering buying the Electronic Singer HD (the one on the far right) to be my travel machine.

@Karol OSteen I was also going to add that if you’re thinking of going with a Brother machine this one is a great option. My friend has it and loves it. https://amzn.to/473Rokl

@Karol OSteen MY grannies taught me to sew also but I did not get really into it until many years later. I wish I had learned more from them and valued what they were trying to teach me while I had them here. I hope that you’ll enjoy being a part of this community and maybe learn a few things too.

@Betty Johnson I’m excited that you’re here. 😍
Hola
Thank you for inviting me. I’ve been sewing since I was 10. I love seeing, crafting and absolutely love my cricut. I am always ready to learn more. I’m in Greensboro NC but my heart belongs to Arizona. Lived there for 18 years. That is my happy place. Bendiciones!!!!!!

Hi Ana! I am excited that you’re here. Feel free to take a look around and share your thoughts.
Classroom Videos
I have posted 2 class videos so far. Module 1 Lesson 1 and Module 2 Lesson 1 should be viewable in the classroom. When I was editing lessons 2 & 3 of Module 1 I realized that the sound cut out 😩 I am going to have to do a voice over or re-record both videos. To make matters more pitiful, I have caught a chest cold that has my voice all raspy. All that to say, I know it is bad timing, but I AM working on getting things up and running and I am SO grateful that you all are here. I’d love to hear some feedback on what you see so far.
For My Beta Tester Group (YOU)
If you’re seeing this message you’re in the Beta Testing Group! Thank you for being willing to be here and help me make this an amazing community where people will be able to learn this amazing hobby of sewing. Poke around and take some notes please. Comment here with suggestions and feedback. I am working to eventually charge a monthly membership fee but I want to make it the best that it can be before I take that leap. Of course, my first 25-30 members (you) will have lifetime free access to the whole Sewing Academy Community.
