Please welcome @Miriam White to the community. She was a Navy Corpsman and a gardener. Please tell us more about yourself, Ma'am.
Let's Go
As we navigate our health, well-being, and daily lives it's important to establish a routine. We can observe routines in nature through patterns and cycles. Just to keep it simple let's look at the macro cycle of the seasons. During spring life awakens. Energy is used to rejuvenate the growth of systems. Summer time is when those systems go into full drive mode for production. Fall becomes the time of depleting energy, harvest, plants go to seed, and nutrients are being stored. Winter is when the natural world rests. Energy that has been stored during fall is now being transfered to the roots of plants and for most animals it is being used to grow new life. We can model this pattern of routine in our daily lives much the same way. Wake up fresh in the morning, be productive, wind down, and rest. In this way we live along side the pattern of energy that nature provides. As you reflect on this idea consider how your daily routine is now and where you can make shifts to be in alignment with nature systems.

Friday
In our growing relationship with the world around us and understanding the energy relationship between the 10,000 things, we will begin to notice an excess accumulation. This excess must be looked at for consideration of use. With an excess or abundance of anything it is obvious that storing it for periods when the source depletes is important. For how long do we store this abundance? Our goal is to create systems that consistently provide an over abundance that can be portioned appropriately. This is where mindfulness of all the 10,000 things comes into play. Realizing that we are not singular entities but that we are a part of the whole system, we developed a responsibility to the things around us. In regards to abundance that responsibility comes in the form of sharing the surplus. Surplus is what's left over after we have portioned out of the abundance our share for storage. Nothing lasts, or stores, forever and we need to be aware of this. Sharing the surplus of what's remaining gives back to the environment (including community, ecosystem, the 10,000 things) to allow other living things to prosper. Food is not the only surplus we encounter. Thoughts, time, money, energy, knowledge, faith, materials, space, are all cultivated for abundance to be used, stored, and shared. Take the day to reflect on what abundance you are creating. How and with what are you sharing the surplus?
