Healing in New Mexico!
I'm back from Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was an amazing 10 days with awesome teachers, healers and wonderful students.
The first weekend was very interesting. It was a weekend all around death and dying and sending departed souls on their way.
And that for me is always been a big part of my healing work as a shamanic practitioner.
Working with the departed souls and helping them along their way — that's a big area of shamanism that I am very experienced with and find it to be so rewarding.
The time spent in New Mexico was really beautiful as we did some beautiful teachings and healings for people, too.
I posted some pictures about our healing tools. The one tool called a popoxomitl is an incense burner that we use ceremonially. We did a big memorial service one day in the dry desert and the next day we we did dispersal of ashes up in pine forest!
The rest of the week was classes and learning from various teachers from Mexico and the U.S.
I was really moved by one of the teachers from Los Angeles talking about traditional healing versus Western medicine.
He talked a lot about how we have to continue pushing our traditional healing methods to the forefront because – 1. they work and 2. people are genuinely seeking alternatives to pills and pharmaceuticals.
Overall, it was a beautiful beautiful time spent with amazing people.
