Pranayama Practice: Quantum healing
I don’t believe we need hours of spiritual practice to feel worthy of claiming our peace in meditation.
Let’s stop thinking in time and start thinking in breaths.
You just need 5–10 deep, aware breaths.
Because as you practice the breath will become slower which means =longer practice.
Close your eyes and bring your awareness to the central channel of the body, the sushumna nadi, sometimes visualized in modern practices as a pranic tube running along the central axis.
Imagine golden light moving up and down this channel with your breath.
In yogic anatomy, ida and pingala weave around the central channel. Ida is traditionally associated with lunar, cooling and inward qualities, while pingala is associated with solar, warming and active qualities.
The practice is about bringing these opposing energies toward balance so prana can move more freely through the central channel.
You’ll sometimes hear ida and pingala described as the “two hemispheres of the brain.” I like this as a modern metaphor, but not a literal anatomical equation. Nadis belong to the subtle-body map of yoga, while the brain hemispheres belong to our physical anatomy.
As you breathe, imagine golden light moving through the center of you, expanding outward around the body and circulating back in, almost like a toroidal field.
Golden light through the sushumna.
Balance through ida and pingala.
Energy moving out, around and back within.
You don’t always need a long meditation.
Sometimes 5 conscious breaths are enough to change your state.
Give your mind somewhere beautiful to put its awareness. ✨
