Day 7
Dominion was one of the first things the guy who led me to Christ discussed with me. He reminded me that as a man, especially a man in Christ I had the power to set the tone and culture for the things around me. Such a simple teaching but powerful encouragement of truth for me.
One emotion that often goes unchecked for me is feeling the need to surrender to the idea of being overwhelmed. I do believe that we all need to make sure that we guarding our time, taking care of ourselves, but in the same breath we should also dare to be great. With being great some days you will be tired, overwhelmed, and at your whits end.
I think that if you let that emotion take over, you ingrain into your fabric as a man. You’ll always feel tired, overwhelmed, and on your last leg. Rather I had to realize sometimes the extra task I needed to do that got me from good to great were often just spending an extra 15 to 30 mins consistently to whatever the task or endeavor at that moment. When I get things done, my family tends to get things done. If I’m lazy then the house is lazy…
