I’m Lizz Huerta, an author and artist based in Chula Vista, California. For over 25 years, I’ve worked in the worlds of art, storytelling, and activism. My debut novel, The Lost Dreamer (2022), was one of the first Latinx fantasy novels published by a major publishing house and became a finalist for the Barnes & Noble Book of the Year award.
I teach creative writing, offer creative consulting, and speak publicly about creativity, storytelling, and lived experience. After taking a two-and-a-half-year pause from my professional life to care full-time for my father during his battle with ALS, I’m now returning to my work carrying both grief and a deeper sense of purpose. Looking forward to connecting and collaborating.🇲🇽🇵🇷🌈
