As the New Year settles in, there’s something I’ve been noticing both personally and in the women I work with.
So much of what we call “overconsumption” isn’t about lack of control at all.
Food.
Scrolling.
Shopping.
Drinking.
TV.
Busyness.
These are often the quickest ways our nervous systems know how to find comfort and relief, especially after a season that asked a lot.
January usually answers that with more pressure:
plans, resets, and discipline.
But what if the real work this month is learning how to meet the need underneath the reaching, the very human need for comfort, safety, and relief?
This January, I’m choosing curiosity over correction. Meeting the need instead of judging how it shows up.
If you feel like sharing: What do you notice you reach for most when you’re tired or overwhelmed?
No fixing. Just noticing. 🤍
This is the foundation of the work I’m holding privately in January, beginning differently, without force.
