How to overcome negative thoughts and letting go practice.
If we take a closer look at the thought process and what thought is, we can notice that we don't control what though comes through if we not actively thinking in the moment. Thoughts just pop up in our head, and for the longest time we were just dealing with it, accepting it, debating it and paying all our attention to it. Most of the time negative thoughts, anxiety and fearful thoughts are just unprocessed emotions, fears that lay dormant within, until we unpack our feelings and emotional attachments to it. We have become afraid of our inner feelings because they hold such a massive amount of negativity that we fear we would be overwhelmed by it if we to dig deeper. In reality, it's not thoughts that are painful but the feelings that accompany them. Thoughts in itself are painless, but not the feeling that underlie them! Unprocessed feelings create pressure that causes thoughts. One feeling can create thousands of thoughts over a period of time, like painful childhood memory that lingers for decades. One terrible regret, one repressed emotion that stays hidden, unconscious. All we need to do is surrender the underlying painful feeling. What is the surrendered state? It means to be free of negative feelings in a given area so that creativity and spontaneity can manifest without opposition or the interference of inner conflicts {Letting go by D. Hawkins} With this knowledge, we can take every single annoying thought that comes in and unpack what's behind it, what fear and what believes are underlying this thought. After thorough investigation, asking yourself questions: Where this feeling coming from? what is the feeling that I avoid? When did this trauma happen? Why do I hold on to it? Ask yourself until you feel the answer, in your bones you can feel resolution. Because once you acknowledged the existence of the feeling it's halfway released. Letting go means to be aware of the feeling, letting it come up, staying with it and letting it run its course without wanting to make it different. Letting the feeling to be there and focusing on letting out the energy behind it.
