Sharing hope and encouragement for anyone in this group feeling like no one listens, they won't heal or ever feel better.
I spent over the last 15 years asking why am I constantly fatigued to be told I just need to "eat better and move more". I already was eating very healthy and even a simple walk would leave me able to only the bare minimum tasks for days after. Not normal for a woman in her 40's, the gaslighting is real!
Then at 51 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (IgG4-RD) that attacks my pancreas and at that point it was no longer functioning - but the symptoms (high A1C, digestive issues) I'd had for a couple years by then were being treated as if it was my food intake and (lack of) movement choices. 🤦♀️ Peri-menopause symptoms were also likely contributing to the cause, but no one was talking about that then.
I've been "working on" repairing my gut health for probably 8 years now, but it's only been since I started following Dr Stephanie that I've gained enough knowledge to interpret the copious amounts of testing I've had done over the last decade. What I was doing wasn't showing measurable results in my eyes, but in reality it was very likely saving me from crashing and burning completely and giving my body a leg up. Now I know this is because I wasn't focusing on the underlying causes, because I didn't know what they were and my healthcare providers also didn't know....
Four years ago I was treated for the autoimmune disease and it has remained dormant ever since.
Now this is where the hope comes in - for the first time in six years of testing, one of my panels came back all "green" - no blaring red results screaming "in desperate need of help!!!". My pancreas is now fully back to normal.
With Dr. Stephanie's help and guidance, I'm now hopeful to figure out the rest of the puzzle pieces, beat the fatigue for good and keep the IgG4-RD from activating.
To everyone I say this - there is hope, keep persevering, keep asking questions, keep learning - the answers are out there! And in the meantime, keep doing what you can as it may be helping you more than it shows.🤩
