#MindfulMonday - You're a Physical Therapist
No two horses move the same. There are always asymmetries, areas of weakness, and conformational challenges just like with us.
Our job as riders is not just to sit on the horse’s back and demand compliance, but to understand what the horse’s body is currently capable of and what it needs help with.
In many ways, we are the horse’s physical therapist. We must choose exercises that support the weaker areas, develop strength over time.
We should ask ourselves “What does he need in order to do this well” not “Why can’t he do this?”.
Have you had to change your plan for a ride to switch to another training/riding agenda bc the horse needed you to?
