Data Privacy
Hi All
Loved day 2 of the AI summit today and the ability to create a clone and an AI agent.
One thing however that’s never discussed is data privacy and security.
It seems like we need to upload a lot of personal data or business data for the AI to get to know us or our business to enable it to create meaningful content. This however seems very risky and surely would open us up to hacking, identify theft and the like. I’m neither rich nor famous so I’m curious how Dean, Igor and Tony manage their clones and agents so that their privacy is maintained because they have more to lose.
I am interested in the AI Advantage 6-week bootcamp but the privacy thing is a little bit of a hurdle.
I asked Claude about this and this was its response: -
Q: If I created a clone or AI agent on Claude - truly how safe and secure is all my information because its deeply personal stuff
Claude responded:
This is a genuinely important question, and I want to give you a straight answer rather than a corporate one.
The honest picture:
When you build a Claude-powered artifact or AI agent on claude.ai, your conversations and any data you pass through it are processed by Anthropic's infrastructure. Here's what that actually means in practice:
What Anthropic does with conversation data:
By default, on claude.ai (Free/Pro), conversations can be used to improve Claude's models, unless you opt out — you can do this in Settings → Privacy → Data Usage
Anthropic employees may review conversations for safety and quality purposes
Your data is processed on Anthropic's servers (AWS-based, US-located)
Thoughts please on a way forward while maintaining data privacy?
Thanks
Gavin
