ChatGpt in organizing stuff (files etc) – and a bug?

Or what is it that is happening here? And how to fix it?

Sometimes chatgpt doesn´t stick to the plan / what was agreed upon.

But does too much Interpretation and summarization - so misunderstands the task. I some time used it for translating a transcription of youtube-video, removing only the time stamps. - And however hard / clearly I asked it to just translate and write the original, it made it´s own interpreatation of what is important and left all else off..

(Finally I was totally frustrated & furious and ready to smash my computer - and felt stupid: I thought I´d save time using chat gpt - And all I got was not what i needed and hours of wasted time)

This has happened several times; I ask something. It shows me what it can do. I say: yes, do that - that´s exactly what i need. It does something totally else. I ask it to correct - only do what we agreed upon. It says sorry and does the same mistake again. I tell it that was not what it was supposed to do, ask it to only do what it promised originally. It says sorry more strongly - "you are absolutely right, I didn´t do what we agreed upon. I should have... [the original plan]", and does the same again.... Etc. End result: look above (me in total nervous breakdown -mode and ready to destroy everything I see)

If someone knows why this happens, and how to avoid / solve it, please tell. I really don´t know why it does this time and time again. (So what in my prompts do it - or if I´ve just found a bug in it - for some unknown reason / way)
