Letting go to create different outcomes
As a new year begins, creating different results often requires doing something differently. One of the most powerful shifts isn’t adding more, but letting something go. Many people carry thoughts, habits, or expectations that quietly shape their experiences without being questioned. Releasing even one of these can change how the year unfolds. Here are some examples of what people may choose to let go of: - The need to have everything figured out before taking the next step - Comparing their pace or progress to others - Guilt around resting or slowing down - The belief that they must do everything on their own - Saying yes when they really mean no - Harsh self-talk and unrealistic expectations Letting go doesn’t remove care or commitment. It creates space for clarity, healthier boundaries, and more aligned choices moving forward. Sometimes one release is enough to shift everything.
How to get out of that blah mood fast
Do you ever have days where nothing feels exciting, nothing feels wrong, but everything just feels… flat? Not sad. Not burnt out. Not overwhelmed. Just stuck in neutral. I get this sometimes too, and for a long time I thought something was wrong with me. But there’s actually a real reason why this happens, and it’s not depression. It’s not a “life crisis”. It’s a nervous system state. I wanted to share what I’ve learned from studying my own patterns, having ADHD, moving through burnout, and just being human. Here’s what actually goes on. Sometimes your body has energy, but your mind doesn’t know where to put it. You’re not fully stressed. You’re not fully calm. You’re not shut down. You’re not activated. You’re in that awkward middle zone where you feel restless and flat at the same time. And when the body feels confused, the mind tries to explain it. That’s when the thoughts come in: “Nothing matters.” “I’m just doing things.” “My life feels pointless.” “Why don’t I feel excited about anything?” Those thoughts feel true, but they’re not truth. They’re just your brain trying to make sense of an under-stimulated nervous system. And this state often shows up after big pushes of energy. You work hard for days or weeks, then everything quietens, and your system doesn’t know what to do with itself. It’s tired but not depleted. It’s wired but not inspired. So what helps? Here are the four things that make the biggest difference for me: 1. Add a small dose of novelty Don’t overhaul your life. Just bring in something new. Walk a different route. Switch cafés. Rearrange one shelf. Start your day with a different task. A tiny shift can wake up your system in the best way. 2. Reduce digital noise When you’re flat, your purpose and drive are under-stimulated. Scrolling overstimulates everything else. It’s the worst combination. Give your system a break from all of that input. 3. Move your body for 10 to 15 minutes You don’t need a full workout. Just enough movement to lift your energy up.
Stop Shrinking. Start Speaking Power.
We all do this thing where we want something… and then immediately start talking ourselves out of it. I set a big desire recently — 500 paid Skool members — and within minutes my mind was already listing the reasons it “probably won’t happen.” Not because I don’t want it. But because my brain thinks it’s “protecting” me from disappointment. And this time of year? That voice gets even louder: ✨ “I shouldn’t want that.” ✨ “I can’t afford that.” ✨ “What’s the point?” ✨ “Nothing ever changes.” We don’t just doubt our dreams. We rehearse the failure before we’ve even begun. But here’s the truth: Lack-thinking isn’t reality — it’s a habit. And habits can be rewritten. So, here’s your shift for today: Instead of talking yourself out of what you want… try talking yourself into it. Talk yourself into possibility. Talk yourself into the “you” who can. Talk yourself into receiving. Talk yourself into the identity that matches the vision you hold. Because your brain listens to the stories you repeat. 💬 What are you choosing to talk yourself into today? Claim it below — even one sentence can change your momentum. And if you want a space where you can consistently rewrite these internal stories… where you don’t have to do the mindset work alone… where the woman you’re becoming is supported, seen, and encouraged — I created Awaken ‘Her’ Within for that exact reason. It’s a community for women who are done talking themselves out of their own power… and ready to start talking themselves into their potential, their desires, and their next-level self.
