I'll go first... #1. Hi friends. My name is Matthew Cooke, from Boulder, Colorado. We certify coaches, and mental health professionals to add a somatic or nervous system tool to their business, called Body-Based Breakthrough. Simultaneously helping them get "unstuck" professionally, as well as personally if they experience anxiety, imposter syndrome or burnout. We use a combination of breathwork, moving meditation, journaling and coaching. We teach it, and certify our trauma-informed practitioners over a 3-month period. #2. I want to connect with new friends, I want to serve our existing clients and I want to help people expand their impact, their belief in themselves and about what is possible in terms of generating cash flow and I want to have a ton of fun! #3. I like to hang by our creek here in Boulder, hike mountains, nerd out about the nervous system, read books about it, and go to coffee shops. I also love me some yoga. #4 - I love my space...but probably my favorite is working on the ground right behind this station...I love moving throughout the day...

Why I'm here and what's to come 💘
What brought me here... I went to a wellness resort called Rancho La Puerta this time last year. It's basically like summer camp for adults, and it's magical. From morning to evening, there's a variety of wellness activities throughout the week to choose from. Fitness classes, yoga, breath work, art class, dancing, hiking, sound baths, meditation, Pilates... you name it, they've got it. The most interesting thing I noticed as I explored different classes was this: - During the fitness or “30-minute express ab burner” classes, I kept thinking, “This is honestly not all that challenging.”  - During the mediation sessions or sound baths, when encouraged to sit quietly, relax, and surrender, I kept thinking, “Wow.. This is really hard.”  Does any of this resonate with you?... I realized that for most of my 20s, I focused more on my physical wellness and muscle toning WAY more than I had been tending to my mind and internal state. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a great workout, and I’m proud of my commitment to my physical strength. But, becoming aware of how challenging it was for me to slow down and find stillness set me up for a beautiful journey inward. This is how I got into somatic work and eventually became a certified somatic coach through @bodybasedbreakthrough Body-based breakthrough and somatic work beautifully explained and encouraged me to think of my mind and body as one rather than separate. Strengthening the relationship between my body and mind has been transformational. Here are some photos from that week in Rancho La Puerta. This affirmation encourages both self-compassion and the recognition that rest is necessary to recharge for the week ahead. It sets a positive perspective for transitioning back into routine, while honoring your need for balance. How are you honoring yourself today?

Monday Mindset Reset
Hii, my name is Ray and I am a founding coach in the Somatic Coaching Community. I am committed to sharing and connecting more in this space and would like to start more conversations around mindset. As a spiritual teacher and somatic guide I truly believe we have the power within us to create our own reality and manifest our hearts deepest desires. One of my favorite morning rituals is reading because it offers a way for me to find stillness as well as completely shift my mindset for the day. So today, I wanted to offer our community an affirmation and perspective shift. TODAYS AFFIRMATION: "Every setback is a setup for a comeback." Challenges and obstacles aren't the end of the road- they're just part of the journey. Every difficult experience is a opportunity to learn more about yourself, cultivate internal awareness and grow beyond your comfort zone. It is in those times that we must dig deeper and anchor into ourselves in order to rise with more resilience. Once we shift from seeing these moments as failures to seeing them as lessons that will better align us with our goals, we can really start to connect to the highest version of ourself. Repeat this affirmation daily and watch your reality transform!
