We are not the only ones who lane split…
So today I’ve been riding back home from a long day in the office, stopped at a red light while listening to music as usual in my helmet. When the light turned green, I’ve started riding, but a car that arrived to the junction behind me felt like lane splitting me from the right 🥴 Needless to say I’ve got a little mad and turned on my strobe lights and used my police horn to warn him. (Didn’t had the strength to pull him over and give him a ticket, as I was off duty anyways). Lesson is: 1) always park at the side of the lane (just as I did in this video) to avoid rear endings. 2) always keep eyes on your side mirrors to watch out of jerks (cars, riders, etc.) 3) never lane split a cop, especially a tired one 😆 Ride safe everyone

Experience vs. Camera view
LOL -- so I had a weird situation where someone in a white SUV who was IMO being overly aggressive in "beating me" to the red lights with traffic in front of us both, but she was in the lane next to me (yeah... i don't get that either lol). Eventually she had to get behind me to avoid a turning lane and ahead there was only a single lane. So for about 2 miles of being behind me and multiple red-lights, she got a small window of opportunity to pass and took it (aggressively) so I assume she was happy as anything that she got to get in front with the way she passed. I was glad too because she was making me nervous being next to and/or behind me. BUT when going back to the footage on the 360 to post it here, it seemed like NOTHING at all compared to the experience. LOL Anyone else have that experience? Is it just not as bad as we think it is in the moment, or does the camera distort the danger to make it seem not as bad as it really is? lol
Back in the saddle again!
Back riding around our “neighborhood” after my surgery and oh my I wish I had that 360 already. I live in such a beautiful place, cattle and farming all over the place. We took our Himalayas over the squiggliest, most dusty, dirt road today and I’ve confirmed I’m an adventure rider at heart. I’ll be buying a camera next month and will take you with us God willing! I did learn something, don’t use that stupid brake while turning, I saved it because I powered through but I was so close to eating that corner! Slow down, don’t grab too much clutch, keep it loaded and use power to keep it up! Di
Old crash story
I must add trigger alert in advance: it’s a bit graphic, so feel free stop reading if it’s too much for you 😅 The story happened at 2006 when I was still a 16 y/o teenager. It was a summer time (school is over already), and I’ve planned to visit a friend which was living I Around 4-5 KM away from me, so I took my bicycle and rode to him. Everything was great and all, I was just a few streets away from him, and came into a road which goes downwards. I was riding on the sidewalk (and not on the road). My bicycle’s brakes were a bit bad at the time, and there was a new section of elderly nursing home being built there. Long story short, during my ride down the road, a tree that was planted there found itself leaning on the construction site’s wall, and I had to make a choice: jump to the road to avoid it, try to squeeze between the wall and the tree (it’s a metal sheet wall btw) or try as hard as I can to brake. Of course I chose the most logical option out of all: squeeze between the tree and the wall. And guess what? It worked! Well… kinda…. I did felt my hand slamming the wall softly (or so I thought), and I’ve managed to stop right after my successful attempt. I did a small “damage control” just to find that I’ve cut my pinky finger straight to the bone (yes, I could see my bone looking back at me), and what I thought to be a small cut on my ring finger, but quickly found out that I can’t move it anymore. Of course I did the most logical thing again - kept riding with the new injuries until I met my friend’s mom which just went shopping. Due to my blood loss, I lost my sight while talking to her, but kept calm (cause I’m a maniac), she called my dad who picked me up and took me to the hospital. With my good luck - there was a great plastic surgeon that day who told me that I’ve ripped my tendon in my ring finger, and almost ripped it in my pinky as well (it was tore to about 90% there). She did managed to dig into my hand and stitch it back on both fingers, and sent me back home for a few months recovery.
