Dipping my toes in. 1st day at Slik Skool. Hi :)
Hi all - first day giving Slik Skool a try. Really enjoying it so far! I took my WSET Level 1 last week to get my feet wet and it confirmed my interest and willingness to keep going! I have been lucky enough to have lived in 2 wine-forward regions: California and Spain. Looking to expand my knowledge in wines as a whole so I can feel more confident choosing and recommending wines. Not a bad excuse to drink, either :) Nice to meet you all.

It’s funny, before a trip last year to Napa, I was all over the place in terms of learning and appreciation.Since finding Slik and the community, I am much more focused on what I enjoy as well as appreciate.I try to use a laminated Slik blind tasting guide if not in my hand, it’s in my head. The wine aroma chart is great, has to buy it.Using the Slik classroom courses in conjunction with Wine Folly has just made learning so much fun.A copy of Meditations makes it an even deeper dive on the philosophical uses and benefits of wine.Ancients taught against sloth and bad use of good things as too much of anything is bad, example air or water. We all are part of each other and this world.Th complexity of wine, growth, types, soils, countries can bring us all together. My favorite evenings are sitting with good friends, good wine and conversation.Balance is the key and the briefness and appreciation of life and all our people in it.Seneca said to be friends with the dead as we are pretty much all the same, now and 5000 years ago. From hieroglyphs to emojis 🤣🥰🍕🍉🍷🍷🍷we still all love, live, the same but with different means to do so. Seneca also does state in a brief section that we should, on some occasions, party and get drunk and act “insane” as he puts it. He recognizes the need of simply having a good time but of course in strict moderation. Enjoy and learn everyone as I expect to from all of you.❤️❤️❤️
My Wine Learning Lab
Hello!
Hi everyone! My name is Sarah and I'm from Chicago. I met Marie at a women in wine panel event at a local wine shop last week. I'm excited to join this group and learn about wine on this platform! I'm actually heading to Barcelona tomorrow for a week. Does anyone have any favorite Cava producers or other Catalonia wineries they would recommend?
Hello!!
My name is Jacob and I live with my partner and our two cats in the Atlanta area! I first encountered Slik Skool on TikTok and am excited to learn more about wine. I have a general idea of what I like, but I'm not super confident picking it off the shelf myself. My current approach is showing up to the local wine shop and asking them to pick fun things for me. Which is great! But I'd like to be able to do some of that myself too 🙂. My death row meal...it would definitely involve oysters!
Hello from Ohio!
Just started Slik Skool so that my husband Jon & I can learn more about wine! Looking forward to learning how to better describe and talk about the wines we like!
