A gig is worth 100 practices
I had a four hour gig last night downtown where I was the only main guitarist so I had to do all the embellishments and parts and stuff like that. And I realized after recording it and listening back. What I practiced for the last several weeks did not come out at all in the live gig.
How many of you guys play out live and notice this phenomenon as well or do you seem to be able to find a nice balance with playing what you’ve practiced compared to what you are reacting to?
