Before You Sew: Safety Rules + How to Thread Your Machine
If you’re brand new to sewing, start with these three basics—in this order: 1) Sewing Safety (first, always). Tie back hair, remove jewelry, good lighting, fingers away from the needle, and power off/unplug when you’re done. 2) Know your machine parts. When you can name what you’re touching (hand wheel, presser foot, tension dial, take-up lever, bobbin winder, etc.), everything gets easier—and safer. 3) Thread your machine correctly. Most “my machine is acting crazy” problems come from threading. Follow the steps and don’t skip the take-up lever. Quick check-in: Comment SAFETY, PARTS, or THREADING — which one do you want a 60-second walkthrough on next? (If you tell me your machine brand/model, I can tailor the threading steps.)

Before You Sew: Safety Rules + How to Thread Your Machine
Welcome — tell me where you’re starting?
Hey everyone, I’m Ms. K. Welcome to Sewing with Ms. K. This is a free space to build real sewing skills—step by step. If you’re brand new or picking sewing back up, you’re in the right place. Drop a quick intro below: What do you want to learn or make this month? What machine are you using (if you have one)? What’s your biggest frustration right now (thread, tension, fit, zippers, hems, confidence, time, etc.)? If you’re comfortable, add a photo of what you’re working on. It helps me point you in the right direction.
