The Humility Revolution | Video Devotional | January 19, 2026
Philippians 2:3-4 - The Humility Revolution Key phrases: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition" / "Consider others better than yourselves" / "Humility isn't thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less." Devotional: In a world that screams "Look out for number one" and "You do you," Paul gives us a radically countercultural command: put others first. But here's the beautiful truth we often miss—humility isn't about self-hatred or thinking you're worthless. It's not grovelling or pretending you don't matter. True humility is freedom from the exhausting tyranny of self-focus. It's the liberation that comes when you stop constantly evaluating how you're doing, how you're being perceived, whether you're getting what you deserve—and instead turn your attention outward to the needs, value, and dignity of others. Jesus modelled this perfectly. He didn't think less of Himself—He knew exactly who He was. But He thought of Himself less, pouring out His life for us. When selfish ambition drives you, you're enslaved to your own ego. But when humility shapes you, you're free to love, serve, and see others the way God sees them. Reflection: Where is selfish ambition subtly driving your decisions—your career, relationships, or ministry? What would it look like to "think of yourself less" in that area this week? How might considering others' needs above your own actually bring you more joy and freedom than self-focus ever could? Prayer Prompt: Ask God to reveal the places where selfish ambition has taken root in your heart. Thank Him that humility isn't crushing—it's liberating. Pray for the grace to see others the way He sees them and for the freedom to put their needs ahead of your own, trusting that God will take care of you as you serve.

Slow to Speak, Quick to Listen | Video Devotional | January 16, 2026
James 1:19-20 - Slow to Speak, Quick to Listen Key phrase: "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." Devotional: In a world of instant reactions, hot takes, and comment sections, James calls us to a radically different way of relating. Listening is an act of love—it says "you matter, your story matters, I'm here." But it's also an act of humility—it admits we don't have all the answers and might actually learn something. Our anger often comes from feeling unheard or misunderstood; what if slowing down to truly listen could transform our relationships and diffuse conflicts before they escalate? Reflection: Who in your life needs you to truly listen to them? What keeps you from being quick to listen and slow to speak? Prayer Prompt: Ask God to make you a better listener—to quiet your inner responses, assumptions, and defences so you can hear others with compassion and understanding.

His Timing is Greater Than Ours | Video Devotional | January 14, 2026
His Timing is Greater Than Ours | John 11:1-44 Key moment: "Jesus wept" / “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” Devotional: When Lazarus fell sick, his sisters sent word to Jesus—but Jesus didn't come. He waited. And Lazarus died. Martha and Mary were heartbroken, confused, maybe even angry. "If you had been here, our brother would not have died." But Jesus had a greater plan. He wasn't late—He was right on time for a resurrection. Sometimes God's delays aren't denials. Sometimes He's waiting because He's preparing something bigger than what we asked for. Our timing says "rescue me now." His timing says, "watch what I can do." Reflection: Where are you waiting on God right now, wondering why He hasn't shown up yet? How does the story of Lazarus challenge you to trust God's timing even when it doesn't make sense? Prayer Prompt: Bring your frustration and your waiting to God honestly. Ask Him to help you trust that His delays have purpose, and pray for faith to believe He's working even when you can't see it.

Treasures in Heaven | Video Devotional | January 9, 2026
Matthew 6:19-21 - Treasures in Heaven Key phrase: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Devotional: Almost everything we're currently chasing—the stuff we work for, save for, stress about—will end up in a landfill within a few hundred years. That's not to say earthly things are bad; they're just not designed to fully satisfy us. We were created for something more. The things of this world were never meant to fill the God-shaped hole in our hearts—only a relationship with the Father can do that. When we build our lives around temporary treasures, we're setting ourselves up for disappointment. But when we invest in what lasts forever—our relationship with God, loving people, growing in faith—we discover a satisfaction that can't rust, decay, or be stolen. Reflection: What are you treasuring most right now? What consumes your time, money, thoughts, and energy? Is it something that will last, or something that's destined for the dump pile? Prayer Prompt: Ask God to reorient your heart toward eternal treasures. Pray for the wisdom to hold earthly things loosely and the desire to invest in what truly lasts—knowing Him and making Him known.

Hope in the Storm | Video Devotional | January 7, 2026
Matthew 7:24-27 - Hope in the Storm Key phrase: Matthew 7:25 "And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock." Devotional: Jesus doesn't promise that the wise builder avoids the storm—He promises they survive it. Read it again: the rain came down on both houses. The streams rose against both foundations. The winds blew and beat against both structures. The storm didn't discriminate. Following Jesus doesn't mean you get a storm-free life—it means you get an unshakable foundation when the storm inevitably comes. The foolish builder wasn't foolish because he experienced hardship; he was foolish because he built his hope on something that couldn't hold him when everything fell apart. Sand looks stable when the weather is calm. It's easy to build on career success, relationships, financial security, or even your own strength when life is going well. But when the diagnosis comes, when the relationship ends, when the job disappears, when anxiety overwhelms—that's when you discover what you've really been standing on. The question isn't if the storm will come. It's where are you putting your hope? A life built on Jesus isn't necessarily storm-free, but it's secure. It's hopeful. Because the Rock doesn't shift when everything else does. Reflection: What "sand" have you been building on—things that feel stable now but won't hold when the storm comes? Where is God inviting you to transfer your hope from temporary stability to the unshakable foundation of Christ? Prayer Prompt: Thank God that He doesn't promise to remove every storm, but He does promise to be the foundation that never fails. Confess the places where you've been building your security on things that can't ultimately hold you—success, control, others' approval, your own efforts. Ask Him to help you dig deep and build your life on Him, trusting that when the inevitable storms come, you'll stand firm not because you avoided hardship, but because your hope is anchored in the One who cannot be moved.
