Hey Superstar!
There's no need to "hide" you're a new investor to a partner.
In fact...
This can be your BIGGEST SELLING POINT!
Them: Who else have you done this for?
Newbie: Nobody. You'd be my first. That's why I am not asking for a $5,000 deposit. I am not asking you to fund a penny of the campaign. I am willing to take on 100% of the risk and invest my time, money and energy into making sure more folks know about you and buy your ______. My target rev share will be 50% standard, but you won't pay that. I see about $200,000 in upside here with a campaign that has been proven in the past, but it could completely flop. If you're willing to do a test and let me fund the campaign for you...I'll make sure your downside is ZERO. With all that said...If it seems like a dumbo idea to you, then I understand. You tell me. Where should we go from here?"
I left a comment for who is working on a promising partnership with a fishing audience influencer. One of the fast ways to monetize a big audience is with ads.
Go find who is ALREADY AND CURRENTLY buying ads in similar media...(These are BUYERS!)
Then USE THE NEWBIE FACTOR to his ADVANTAGE:
"I see you're advertising in Lunkers...I've got an audience of fisherpeeps super interested in bass fishing. We've got about 5.5 million and 450,000 engagements in the last month or so. We don't normally sell sponsorships so I'd make you a heckuva deal if you're open to it? Probably a fraction of what you're paying to be in Lunkers. Would you be open to this at all? or should I go fish another hole?"
The NEWBIE FACTOR when worn as a Badge of Honor...and not like a "shameful" dirty t-shirt, you've gotta try and hide the ketchup stains...
Works INCREDIBLY WELL.
It works sooo well...
I "stay" a newbie as often as I can.
Especially because I am making them an OFFER, I know they can't get anywhere else.
I'm always looking at where I can "be a newbie".
"I've never done a sports betting campaign before. This would be completely new for me. So, I wouldn't want to charge you a $10,000 deposit...etc..."
Ya know what else this does?
Wearing your Newbie Factor as a badge of honor takes the "white knuckling" out of coffee dates and first dates.
And because we aren't dealing with "shame" or "fear"...
Our willingness to open convos, get on coffee dates and do deals goes thru the roof.
There is NO REASON to be fearful when you aren't tryna "hide" something.
Our offer is soooo good we don't need to have a resume.
The "like, know, trust" and authoritay are nice cards to have if you've got them...
But don't buy into the BULL SHIT that says you must have those cards...and present yourself as some super gooroo.
Billions were sold on Black Friday...
A billion or two was bought because of the DEAL...and from someone we don't even KNOW or LIKE or respect their authoritay!
I bought stuff I have NO clue who runs the company.
They had what I wanted.
It's a GREAT deal.
I perceived very little risk.
SOLD!!!
I'm looking at my computer right now...
It's a Lenovo.
I had NO CLUE about anybody at Lenovo.
But it was the size I wanted, had a touchscreen, a super fast RAM that they told me only Lenovo had and such.
I don't know the CEO...I don't even care if I'd like him/her or not.
I buy stuff from companies all the time where I really DON'T LIKE THEM.
Gasoline. I don't like those guys.
Electricity. I don't know who they are. I've only got one choice though.
My scanner. I don't know a soul at Fujitsu. I think it's a weird name. Does that stop me? NO!
I could go on and on.
Doing Ronin Deals is an INCREDIBLY fun game!
We're making an offer very few people have the brass ballz or ovaries to make.
That will get all the doors open you ever need.
Rooting For Ya,
Travis
