Descending & cornering Masterclass
Folks, we’ve an amazing opportunity to learn descending & cornering from former professional motorbike racer
I’m personally so excited for this after we got a brief glimpse on Mondays Q&A (which is recorded under “Rider support” in classrooms)
I want to make sure we tailor the masterclass so we hit all the main points.
Did I miss anything ?
  • Line choice and vision: where to look, how far ahead, and “outside–inside–outside” in the real world
  • Braking technique: how to use front vs rear, progressive braking, and how to brake before (and lightly into) a corner
  • Body position: hips, elbows, weight distribution, low center of gravity, and staying relaxed
  • Leaning and steering: bike lean vs body lean, countersteering basics, and keeping pressure through the outside foot
  • Corner entry speed and pacing: judging speed, setting up early, and avoiding “panic speed” mid-corner
  • Traction and road surfaces: reading grip (wet, gravel, paint, leaves), camber, and how tyres affect confidence
  • Corner-to-corner flow on descents: linking turns, resetting between corners, and maintaining smoothness
  • Common mistakes and fixes: target fixation, death grip, overbraking, sitting too far back, and crossing the center line
  • Safety, etiquette, and group descending: passing rules, spacing, communication, and risk management in bunches
