My wife and I decided to kick off Vietnamese New Year celebrations this week—full of enthusiasm, cultural respect, and probably too much optimism about my calendar-reading skills.
We pulled up to the temple, ready for lanterns, lion dances, and good vibes… only to discover the actual ceremony is next weekend. Yep, we were a full seven days early.
The silver lining? The round-trip drive was a whopping 2 miles from home, so we didn’t exactly burn a tank of gas or lose a weekend. Crisis averted—barely.
But hey, all was not lost. I finally got to debut my new fedora paired with a new pair of grey wool trousers.
Here’s to premature celebrations, short commutes, and outfits that deserve their moment—even if the crowd isn’t quite there yet.
