Tartan traditional and the three Fs
Second day with a tartan tie. Went super classical and traditional today:
Navy blazer, deep charcoal pant white shirt, yellow tartan tie and yellow p. square and shell cordovan tassel loafers.
Classic clothing simply works. This color combo I would have worn as far back as a jr in high school (1977). The difference would be the fabrics.
Fabrics: Then as a poor high school student, it would have been an affordable man made fabric tie and man made fabric blazer. I would have worked within my budget. Now, I have a 12+ year old Hart Schaffner and Marx wool blazer that I paid to have re-tailored recently (fit is king), plus 20 year old MTM wool calvary twill slacks that I had re-tailored recently (fit is king). Along with a new sea island white shirt the fit, fabric and function hit on all cylinders I believe with the outfit . The bottom line: Fit is king -fabric is right and-
The third F : Function (what one is wearing, when and where) makes sense to me with my morning Rotary meeting then a 1:00 client meeting, followed by a membership drive function I’m putting on at 5:30 this evening, with 40 prospective new Rotary members.
The three Fs. Fit, Fabric, and Function along with classic timeless style are a proven recipe. Have a great day gentlemen.
