On the fifth day of Christmas 🎵
I absolutely love the 12 days of Christmas. The pressure to buy gifts and put up the decorations, and get to all the relatives and have the house ready to receive family and friends has basically wound down. It’s time to relax, and enjoy the world’s most celebrated birthday. As an anglocatholicmethidobapticostal I find the whole denominational arguments as superfluous as whether UPS or the US postal service has delivered my Amazon order to my porch. But I do love the liturgical calendar and how it creates the ability to focus on the year in a meaningful way. Today is most likely the last client delivery for the year so I went with a fifth day of Christmas theme and even wore a green flat cap gifted to me by the sons of my deceased best buddy Timmy. White shirt, green silk and linen V neck, wool tartan tie, Burgundy cotton blazer, Grey flannel pants, tan Indy Boots, green faced Borealis watch.
I am saddened for those who miss out on Christmastide and pull their stuff down the day after only the first of 12. For my wife and I who lived in Germany and travelled to the Tyrollean areas of Germany and Switzerland and Italy for decades we can finally take a breather and enjoy all the wooden nicknacks that remind us of our travels. More importantly we can sing all the songs in anticipation of the magi’s arrival. I just hope she doesn’t expect. 🎼 FIVE GOLDEN RINGS😳
