First Ever Date Update

My date finally happened last night. I was still recovering from a flu so I didnt make any moves physically (except for the hug at the end as she was getting on the bus). This is based on all the amazing dating advice I got, which i am very appreciative of. She is camera shy so no pics. This is how it went:

Something important to note. The first two times we hung out, she was an hour late from our agreed upon time. This time, she came early.

She was kind to the staff, polite, and interested in what I said. She had full blown conversations with the waitress and the cashier at the movie theatre.

She did check her phone, but not often.

I did make her laugh a few times.

I made sure she got home safely afterward.

I think I was a generous, patient gentleman.

I didn't expect intimacy at the end of the date, which is something her exes did all the time. She told me they basically just used her for sex and dump her after 6 months.

I did thank her for a wonderful evening, and I think the connection felt right, thoughtfully planning and inviting her on a second date, which she has agreed to and is in the planning stage.

I paid for everything except for the alcohol she ordered (a boundary I set from the first time we hung out). She felt a bit tipsy after one drink (a lightweight I guess). She was surprised as she said she was very used to paying for things herself (maybe her exes never paid for food or other parts of the date?). She told me they do pay for Uber.

Asked her input on what we ate. She says it was fine.

Didn't touch my phone even if she did.

Didn't lead with “I’ve never been on a date before. “ but she seemed surprised when i told her, asking why. She did the same thing when I told her I've never had a gf before. She did mention she has her first bf in her heart to the point where they have a restraining order against her. She asked me why he would do that (she never got closure from him). He is now married with children.

Always held the door.

Was polite to the server. She was having conversations with the server and the person we ordered popcorn from (even speaking Spanish (she is fluent) because they were Brazilian).

When appropriate (e.g. funny parts of the film) and you find you laugh together, turn and look her in the eyes for a second or so whilst you are both laughing. Right there is a connection and a little bond between you which will seem very natural and not contrived. Such little things can become the basis of closeness in time. This happened multiple times throughout the movie. However, I didn't want her getting sick so I didn't make a move, although I would've if I wasn't sick.

I was a gentleman to her, something her exes apparently weren't.
