A splash of color in the grey – Why I love the yellow rain jacket 😊

Today is December 1st. The Advent season begins. 🎅

Outside in Germany, the days couldn't be greyer. The sky is grey, the streets are grey – and the wardrobes of most people seem to adapt to the weather. 😶‍🌫️

Black, dark blue, anthracite: The color palette of many commuters is as dismal as the weather itself. If you're not careful, you arrive at the office not just tired, but spiritually greyed out.

That's where I come in – in my bright yellow rain jacket. A luminous splash of color in the sea of monotony and by now almost my personal trademark.

During my morning bike ride to the office, I noticed something:

Color seems to be a taboo in winter. As I cheerfully cycle through the rain, some passersby give me irritated looks (*) and others smile. Perhaps they are thinking: "What is that guy doing? Is he trying to play the sun?" Who knows?

Perhaps we should more often dare to show a little color in our everyday lives and light our "personal Advent light".

Because sometimes, all it takes is a small splash of color to brighten up the day, not just for yourself, but for others too.

(*) That could, of course, also be due to my "Last Ninja Lookalike" face shield 😁
