Explain to me like I'm 5. What is growth rap?

When I am telling people about what group rap is, there are two responses.

Every time I explain it, they act like they get it, but I know the polite smile and head nod that hides the truth.

"I still don't get it."

Those who have been on this journey with me for a while, how would you explain growth rap?

I am just too close to it to embrace my beginner's mind.
