I want to share something with you today, straight from my heart. So please take the time to read it. (This is from my heart, not from chat gpt)
For 25+ years I’ve walked the road from bondage to breakthrough — not as a theory, but as my own story. From jail cells and psychiatric institutions to rehab and opiate withdrawal clinics, I know what it feels like to be trapped by hurts, habits, and hang-ups that seem too heavy to carry and too shameful to name. I know what it feels like to be a failure, to be a “nothing”, to be laughed and scorned at. I know the loneliness and isolation. I have lived with the fear of being in debt and having everything repossessed, not having enough money to buy myself a packet of cigarettes. I smoked BB tobacco using newspaper. I travelled around Johannesburg using our local taxi services because I didn't have any other means of transport.
BUT
I also know what it feels like on the other side of that wall, when Christ meets you in the struggle and sets you free. Yes it is possible! There is a Power greater than yourself that wants to set you free. And not just that, He wants to reveal to you His plan for your life. And this is His promise: His plan for your life far exceeds anything that you can ever imagine.
Today, at the age of 48 I am the father of the most beautiful little girl, Leméh. I have the most awesome wife Gerridene, who loves me unconditionally and together we share a passion for God’s kingdom, entertainment, entrepreneurship, and for people. Today I am drug-free, as well as financially independent. We have the freedom to choose what we do with our time. I am an award-winning actor, TV presenter, and the winner of Survivor Maldives. I am the author of two bestselling books, an international speaker, cereal entrepreneur and the proud ambassador of Hope Again Wellness Centre, a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation facility in South Africa. I am an accredited mental health coach and transformational coach and I love seeing people win! I am also privileged to be part of the preaching team at our Church-Centre Church. You must visit one day!
We have the most wonderful friends in the world and are surrounded by a fire of love. So many of my wildest dreams have come true, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I still stand in awe today of how God rescued someone like me from the grip of heroin addiction — someone with no skills, no friends, no self-worth, a thief and a liar who hung around strip clubs and spent time with prostitutes, and gave me a new life.
I mention these things not at all to impress you. On the contrary, I mention them in the hope that the reality of this miracle will leave a permanent and definite imprint, an impression, and a deep conviction stamped on your heart. Because if God could do it for a heroin junkie, He can do it for you too.
There is a divine power living in you, and you can lead an extraordinary life. You have world-changing potential, or as Les Brown always says: “You have greatness inside of you!”
God wants you to prosper.
