Day 10/40: Become the Dream
So far, you’ve been recording, reflecting, and re-entering dreams. Today, we take it a step further: not just remembering the dream, but becoming it.
Part One: Embody a Dream Character
Choose a figure from a recent dream. It could be a person, an animal, a shadowy presence, even something symbolic like a storm.
For 10 minutes, move or speak as if you are them. Don’t overthink it, just notice how your body wants to move, what your voice sounds like, what posture or feeling wants to emerge.
This is a powerful way to engage with parts of yourself that your waking mind doesn’t fully understand. According to Jungian and somatic psychology, what appears in a dream is often a disowned or underdeveloped part of us. Giving it a voice or movement lets it express what it couldn’t say in sleep.
Part Two: Lucid Sitting
Afterward, sit completely still for 10 minutes with your eyes open. No music. No guidance. No intention other than this:
Notice the dreamlike nature of this moment.
The way your thoughts flicker in and out. The way air moves around you. The unexpected sound of the refrigerator.
This is called lucid sitting — training your awareness to notice that even waking life is textured with dreamlike qualities. The more you see this in the day, the more likely you are to recognize it at night, and wake up inside the dream.
These two practices together help you blur the boundary between night and day, inner and outer, dreamer and dreamed. Today, you're not just interpreting your dreams, you're letting them live through you.
