⛑️❤️ WELCOME TO RESCUER ACADEMY
Hey everyone! 👋⛑️Turning fear into courage. Come join me!❤️ I'm Jakub, a nurse with over 15 years in healthcare. Right now, I work in the ICU at Motol and Homolka University Hospital in Prague, where we fight for stroke patients' lives every single day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why did I start RESCUER ACADEMY? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because I truly believe anyone can save a life. You don't need to be a doctor or have special gear. You just need the right knowledge, courage, and to know what to do in those first crucial minutes. I see it every day in the ICU – patients who get good first aid have a much better chance of getting their lives back. Those who don't? Often, they're not so lucky. That's why I built this place. To turn fear into courage – together. I want to give you simple, practical tools that actually work in real situations. No fluff, no theory you'll never use. Just what you actually need to know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📋 Here's what you'll find: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🧠 FAST test – Spot a stroke early 🌀 Epilepsy – First aid during a seizure 🦴 Spinal injuries – What NOT to do at an accident 🧠 Head injuries – Bump or life-threatening? ❤️ Heart attack – When the heart cries for help ⚡ AED – A miracle box you can use too 🫀 CPR – When the heart stops, your hands decide ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And way more coming soon! 🚀 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🔁 Your challenge: Jump in with me! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This community is nothing without you. It's built by people who want to be ready when it counts.

🫀🆘 Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
When the heart stops, your hands decide 🫀🆘 The ambulance is on its way – but it might arrive too late. Your hands can save a life right now. Here's what you need to know. Picture this: You're walking down the street and someone collapses in front of you. They're on the ground, not moving, not responding. What's your first move? 🆘 Most people freeze, grab their phone, and call emergency. That's good – but by the time help arrives (usually 7–10 minutes), it's often too late. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why I'm writing this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👨‍⚕️ I work in the Stroke Center at Motol and Homolka University Hospital in Prague. We don't usually get patients after resuscitation, but sometimes a stroke patient has a cardiac arrest right in our unit. When that happens, they get CPR within seconds – we're trained for it. That's why I know how critical it is for ordinary people to be ready too. Before the ambulance gets there, it's all on you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two patients, two outcomes: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👨 David, 52 – Collapsed during a run. His buddy started CPR immediately while someone else called emergency. Ambulance arrived in 8 minutes, but David's heart was already beating thanks to those compressions. Today, he's back to jogging – grateful his friend didn't panic. 👴 František, 70 – Collapsed at dinner. His wife called for help but was too scared to do CPR – she didn't want to hurt him. The ambulance came in 9 minutes. It was too late. Broken ribs heal. Death doesn't. ❓The difference? Your hands. And the guts to use them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📋 How to do CPR (the ABCD approach) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

📋 FAST test: How to spot a stroke in 60 seconds and save a life 🧠⏱️ I'm standing next to a woman who's having a stroke right now. Would you recognize it? 🧠⏱️ She's smiling, but her smile is crooked – the left corner of her mouth is drooping. She raises her arm, but her right arm hangs like a rag doll. She tries to say something, but only nonsense sounds come out. This woman could be your grandmother, your neighbor, or maybe your mom. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why I'm sharing this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👨‍⚕️ I work in the Stroke Center at Motol and Homolka Hospital in Prague. Every day I see what stroke does to patients and their families. I started this Skool community to spread awareness and save lives together. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two stories, two endings: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👨 Josef, 68 – His wife recognized the FAST test from a Facebook article. She called emergency within 5 minutes of the first symptoms. Today, Josef is home, walking, talking, and watching his grandkids. 👵 Eva, 72 – Her family waited to see if it would "pass." The ambulance arrived 3 hours later. Today, Eva is in a long-term care facility, dependent on others for help. She'll never hug her grandkids the way she'd want to. ❓ The difference? Time. And knowing the FAST test. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📋 THE FAST TEST ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🧠 F – Face - What to do: Ask them to smile - What to look for: Is the smile symmetrical? Is one corner drooping? - ⚠️ Even slight asymmetry can be a sign 💪 A – Arms - What to do: Ask them to raise both arms in front of them - What to look for: Does one arm drift down? Do they struggle to hold it up? - ⚠️ Test each arm separately

📅 6. 3. 2026 – Day Shift at the Stroke Unit
Hello, this is Jakub. 👋 Welcome to another live broadcast from my shifts at the stroke unit. Today is Friday, March 6, 2026, and I'm on another day shift. Yesterday was incredibly demanding—Mrs. Jitka with massive pulmonary embolism and brain artery occlusion, CVC insertion, CT transports, cardiology consultations. Let's see what today brings. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🌅 Commute to Work ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This morning went the same as the last few days. I woke up at 5:10, showered, got ready, and headed out. As always, I drove my brother to the Police University—we talk about what's ahead on the way, and I get to escape the hospital world for a bit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6:15 – Arrival at the Hospital 🏥 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I park in front of Homolka, quickly run to the locker room. Change into clean scrubs—the classic. Things in the locker, phone in pocket, ready to go. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🩺 Shift Handover ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6:30 – On the Ward ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We're standing in the day room. Shift handover begins. Today I'll be taking care of Mrs. Jitka again—the patient who kept the whole team busy from morning to evening yesterday. Let's see how she did overnight and what awaits us today. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reminder: Who is Mrs. Jitka? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
