Ask and you shall receive!
Hey friends! What was a time you asked the universe for something and it over-delivered in response? BIG emphasis on the fact that refusing to asking for what you what means 0% chance you get it. Even if you are rejected. The chance is more than 0! And those odds are good enough for a story worthy life 🤙 My deep desire was to be welcomed to somebody’s home and gallop down the beach on a horse with them. I was lucky enough to meet an elderly gal on the Gold Coast of the South Island and simply welcomed me from a Facebook NZ traveller group. Now I may return and help maintain her property for a few months to kick off the new year. One hello changed my year and knocked off my bucketlist hope! Bonus points for stories with photos :p If you don’t have a story in mind, what might you starting to ask that somebody helps teach/adventure/share something with you?

Making Little-Me Proud
I felt some NERVES washing through me as I was a hundred feet above the forest line, doing beyond-vertical traverses across this cliff face. I had flashbacks of me when I was afraid of 10ft. All the version of me that inched against my fear and had moments of relaxation to hang over the edges. To stay there long enough to console myself that I’m fine. I’m fine. I’m fine. There was a shaky rung and my adrenaline snapped back into gear. I told myself.. I’m chill.. because I HAVE TO BE.😅 Nobody here to save me. Truly alone and trusting myself. There is an optimal space for stress to draw the greatness of us. This was sure one of them. This adventure was 8$ of gear rental and a 1min safety vid.. I was wildly unprepared for how rowdy it was going to be. And so I have I heard for many others😆 When was a time you held on to a moment and knew that you made little-you proud?
Making Little-Me Proud
When was a time a risk you took paid off?
Life is full of adventures hiding behind an entrance fee of curiosity! It must simply be greater than our self-doubt and fears! Very few people in life land their truly aligned career or relationship on first attempt. We’ve all lived far more colourful lives than first impressions could ever tell. Share one of those stories here! For myself, last summer, I had an epiphany that I must CHALLENGE my limiting beliefs. One was that I could not be a heli-pilot because of 3 heart procedures as a kid with leukaemia. You can’t fly with risk of heart palpitations - which I have had probably once a month for 20 years. But I never medically confirmed this to disqualify me. The day after I realized I made an assumption, rather than make proof, I went to an aviation medical examiner, did all the test and passed with flying colors! 💫 I expressed my concerns and he said ‘no, you’re a young healthy guy despite your cancer, crazy if you DONT go for this with your clean bill of health.” 🤯 Next step, I call my only heli-pilot contact I met a a horseback guide in the Yukon a decade ago. I asked for pointers before paying $80,000 in schooling. 9min phone call later, he offered me a job as ground crew at his helicopter outfit in a remote Inuit village in the Yukon. I dropped my life, drove 37hours and spent 2 months in the epic north! Learned a TON! BUT! I learned that my truest calling is to be of deep and personal service to individuals. My gifts are to elevate others, and flying was just a ‘that’s pretty badass’ dream that I thought was denied me because of my heart procedures. But that man gave me an opportunity to realize my priorities and saved me heart $100,000 and YEARS of debt by giving me an inside view before investing. So my words to you, do not simply buy into any negative assumption about yourself. Challenge it and realize how often ONLY our own mindset and the story we tell ourselves is in the way! Thanks to @Georgiana D for inspiring this conversation!
Share a Serendipity!
- 💪 Let’s the stories we share here PROVE there is beauty to be found in the great expanse of life after facing what we assumed would have broken us! A Serendipity is a story about how something that was terrible in the beginning became something incredible in the long run. For me, 1. Having cancer as a young kid became the best thing about my life, surrounding me with other incredible survivors (some of you in the group!) and lead me to a passionate life of paying forward the example I was given as a kid. 2. Having poor circulation and getting frostbite a 6th time in alberta due to leukaemia led me to leave my hometown in Alberta. I drove 11hours to a new land with no friends and start fresh in Kelowna, BC. I slowly but surely made more aligned, ambitious and outgoing friends than I could have hoped for. Forcing open space allowed for amazing new surprises. I may not have left if i wasn’t forced to change climates for my health reasons! 3. ‘Failing’ by investing my life savings into my first fantasy book gave me profound lessons. It forced me to face my money fears when I lost my savings, I realized I’d rather be in the philanthropy industry instead of the entertainment industry with a fantasy series. And I had to admit I had NO IDEA what I was doing, and sought mentorship. That seeking lead to meeting mentors that altered my view and sense of possibility in the world, I owe a lot of my conviction and sense of hope to them, thanks to ‘failing’ my first fantasy book. 🤙 What’s your serendipity?
