⚔️ WEEK 2 CHALLENGE: THE MOVEMENT MIX
October 12–18 Last week, we tackled 300 pull-ups. This week, we’re switching things up. Your challenge: Accumulate intentional movement throughout the week AND try at least 1 activity you don’t normally do. 🎯 PICK YOUR LEVEL 🟢 BASE: 150 minutes ⚪ STANDARD: 300 minutes 🔴 BEAST: 450 minutes 💪 WHAT COUNTS? Walking, running, lifting, cycling, swimming, hiking, yoga, Pilates, mobility, sports, or any other intentional movement. YES, your regular workouts count! 🔀 HERE’S THE TWIST Try at least 1 activity outside your normal routine. 🏋️ Always lift? Try yoga or swimming. 🏃 Always run? Try strength training. 🚶 Always walk? Try cycling or Pilates. 💪 Do everything? Pick something you’ve neglected. Even 10 minutes of something different counts. 📋 THE RULES ✅ Pick your level. Adjust if needed. ✅ Accumulate minutes over 7 days. No daily minimum. ✅ Mix activities. Your normal workouts count. ✅ Try at least 1 activity you don’t normally do. ✅ Modify as needed. Walking, seated exercise, and low-impact options all count. ✅ Recovery matters. Don’t push through pain or add unnecessary training. ✅ Track your minutes honestly. A missed target doesn’t erase your effort. No equipment or special app required. Just track your minutes on your phone, watch, or a piece of paper. Report your progress in your regular Friday check-in and share your final total here after the weekend. The challenge is optional and doesn’t affect Active 300 status. 👇 YOUR TURN! Drop 2 things in the comments: 1️⃣ BASE, STANDARD, or BEAST? 2️⃣ What’s the NEW activity you’re trying? Get moving. Try something different. Have some fun with it. LET’S GO, PROJECT 300! ⚔️💪
Best 12 min run benchmark since 2022!
So tonight I felt kinda tired. But I had signed up for an Orangetheory class and today was the 12 min treadmill benchmark. I am happy to say that I got 1.39 miles in 12 min which isn’t too shabby AND it was in fact my fastest 12 min tread benchmark since July 2022. I’m pleased with that because in 2022 I was at my fastest. The reason I was fast in 2022 wasn’t great - my compulsive hoarder mom died right at that beginning of tax season that year. Epic timing for an accountant. I am also an only child and the cleanup was the stuff of nightmares. The worst you’ve seen on the show hoarders - yep. It both broke my heart and made me mad. It took us until August. I was ANGRY that I had to go through that. The angry was put into the gym. I got fast. So to come close to that without hate in my heart everyday is amazing! I have Project 300 to thank for that. The runs absolutely kicked my ass when Project 300 started. But intervals eventually got longer, then I didn’t need intervals…I could hold the run, then I got faster and faster as the months passed. I will never stop being grateful for you all and Pod 8 for pushing me!

Challenge Update
Started the day off with 20 minutes of yoga, or if I may borrow from Zack, Toga. Definitely something to work on. Then after Little Coach got home from school, we did 60 minutes of Performance Track Grip workout. Then a 40 minute walk to the park and back with 20 minutes of tossing the football around. Don’t tell Little Coach, but a quarterback prodigy he is not. Maybe a tight end, but not a QB. Achilles is almost back to normal so I can start running again pretty soon. So if my math is correct that’s 140 minutes of activity today. That’ll be 390/300 for the week.

Update
Well it’s not been a fun week but finally some relief… I just had a stress test as a follow up procedure from my ER visit earlier in the week. If you’ve never had one, I don’t recommend. There’s nothing fun about a treadmill with a steep incline while you have wires attached and an IV sticking out of you. Good news - EKG and Echo look good at rest, during exercise and after exercise. I was told that I have a very strong, conditioned heart(thank you Project 300). What’s next? - 1. Cardiologist appointment on Monday to go through everything and to tell me next steps when it comes to monitoring. 2. Work my way back into my regular schedule - we will see what that looks like. In my head it’s stretching, TKD(no sparring), weight training(light/moderate), cardio(zone 2 run/bike). Enjoy the photo of a text from a friend I’ve known since kindergarten. Keep killing those workouts, love the inspiration and can’t wait to get back to it!
