Something New Makes Copy Unique
Thanks everyone for your comments on my last post about copywriting! So here we go — without holding back. You’ve probably heard people say, “Make your offer unique” or “Write something new in your copy.” And if you haven’t, well… now you have. 😅 Something new gives your reader a reason to believe you’re different — not just another name in the crowd. But here’s the thing — being new or unique alone doesn’t make people buy. What makes them buy is explaining the “new.” You have to show them how you’re new and why that matters. For example: If I say, “I write compelling storytelling copy for your business,” you’ll probably think, “So what? Thousands of people say that.” 👉 Result: Rejected. But if I say, “I’ll write storytelling copy that speaks your audience’s language — in your brand’s unique voice,” now you’re thinking, “Hmm… that’s different.” See the difference? Being more specific about your “new” helps. Like I said — I’ll speak your audience’s language in your unique brand voice.
