The pivot from employee to online seller—harder than I expected
Hey everyone,
Been lurking here for a bit and finally wanted to jump in.
About two years ago, I was working a regular 9-5 and honestly just felt done with it. Not because the job was terrible but I was missing everything with my kids and the whole building someone else's dream thing wasn't sitting right anymore.
A buddy from way back hit me up about selling online and I figured I'd give it a shot while still working. Took longer than I thought to get traction, but once I figured out the right product angle and got my systems down, things started moving.
Now I'm doing this full-time consistently hitting $15-20k months and actually get to be present for my family.
The transition wasn't smooth though. There were definitely moments where I questioned if I was making a huge mistake leaving that steady paycheck.
For anyone here who made a similar jump from traditional work to selling online what was the hardest part for you? And what do you wish you'd known before making the leap?
