If you fail to plan...
Having just changed roles in my career, I was given some great advice:
As you step into something new, create a clear 30-60-90 days set of goals that will act as markers and directional beacons for a successful way forward.
That is a classic philosophy for a reason! Whether it's attributed to Benjamin Franklin or ancient wisdom, it highlights a very practical truth: setting a clear goal and mapping out the steps is the best way to get where you want to be.
Taking a few minutes to organize your thoughts can save you hours of wandering later. Here is a quick, three-step framework to put this idea into action:
  • Define the Destination: Be hyper-specific about your goal. Instead of "I want to get organized," aim for "I will clean my desk and plan my weekly tasks."
  • Work Backwards: Look at your end goal and list the immediate, smaller steps required to reach it. ("Eat the elephant" a bite at the time - Peter Drucker, From Good to Great)
  • Schedule It: Assign specific, realistic time blocks to each step so it actually gets done.
If you have a specific goal in mind—like a project you're starting, a flight you're planning, or a personal routine you want to build— I'd love to hear it!
If you need help, we can break it down into a concrete, actionable step-by-step plan together!
