Real life question
When did you see a manager stand by your side when you made the tough call? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it? When have you seen tool actually help you in your decision making? I was in the middle of updating the Ops modules (Ops 2 is now fully up to date, go see it. It is a thing of beauty!) and wow this question hit be, because it is SO applicable!

Current Book? (no cheating!)
Hey everyone! Roll call - share what book you are currently reading (or listening to!) No cheating! Mine is "The Power of Time Perception" and it's been fascinating!!

@Sonny P that last part is so powerful! Giving yourself grace allows it to flow to others as well. Thanks for sharing! It sounds like a lot of us are on a parenting journey which I guess is ultimately what is driving us here to learn and grow also and be examples to our children. Love it!
@Jack Cuthbert since you're on book 13 I imagine it is good!!
Domain V - Part 3 Live Workshop
In 2006, just out of flight school, I got the chance to help a single-pilot PC-12 owner by sitting right seat and manning his radios during an air rally around Northern Quebec. For a brand-new pilot, it felt like the opportunity of the summer. What I was not prepared for was how he operated. He blatantly disregarded some of the airspace restrictions along the route. And that is how I ended up watching an F-18 slide onto our wing. That is the interceptor, through our window, on the day the system came to find us. Nobody plans to meet a fighter. And here is the thing I understood only later: nothing about that day was a flying failure. The airplane was fine. The weather was fine. It was a planning failure, a briefing that never happened, restrictions treated as suggestions. The intercept was just the invoice arriving. That is the exact territory of the final Domain V session. The points in this part of the exam hide in the corners nobody studies, the same corners that got a PC-12 intercepted. Domain V, Part 3: OPS6 through OPS9, plus Part 139. Thursday, August 13 · 11AM ET · live in the community. This one is a drill day. The first two parts asked you to reason. This one asks you to know the numbers cold, and the exam over-tests exactly the topics your study guide skims: - The presidential TFR's two rings, and what actually lets you operate in the outer one. - eAPIS, and the sixty-minute clock that runs in both directions. - Who owns security in your department, and why "maximum posture at all times" is the wrong answer. - The SHELL model, the Swiss cheese, and the sterile cockpit question almost everyone gets wrong: cruise at 8,500 feet, the PIC asks for a coffee. Violation or legal? - Bottle to throttle, duty limits, scuba, and the oxygen altitudes that changed in the 2026 Guide. - Jet fuel fires, RACE, bonding versus grounding, and the OSHA clocks. - And Part 139, the airport certification rule the exam over-represents. Four certificate classes, the ARFF index, and the three-minute rule. You do not operate the airport, but you need to read it.
