One win of the week/month/summer?
Hey all! I know we're all working hard, learning and growing in many ways! Looking back at the summer, or the season you've been going through, what's one thing that you can tell you have grown in? Personally, one small interesting bit that's surprised me is learning more about my performance around my nutrition both physically and mentally, and discovering new helpful ways to improve it. It's been fun and encouraging to see the progress in performance output at the gym and I'm the cockpit. Also for fun, here hanging out with @Mark Laverdiere after an amazing trip learning from him as a professional and an incredible person!

Nutrition is something I never took seriously or really even thought much about until about 2 1/2 months ago. My Blood pressure was through the roof, energy was non-existent and days were just not enjoyable. I changed the way I thought about food/nutrition almost overnight. I Broke addictions to terrible foods and eating habits. I was too afraid to go to the doctor to get blood pressure medications and what THAT might do to my medical. So, I went from dangerously close to losing my medical with high blood pressure to a 119/76 first reading in 2 months. More energy, more clarity thinking and decision making and best of all, sleep!! Full nights with no snoring, no apnea, no heartburn and waking up rested rather than 6-7 individual waking times each night, tums at the bedside and a wife who gets to sleep and not be worried I’ll stop breathing. I have spent dozens of hours reading and learning about how to do this and haven’t felt this good since I was in my 20’s. Just today, I came across this reel on Facebook, and the struggles I had to break habits make so much more sense now. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1LmZ9sHCcw/?mibextid=wwXIfr

I have been surprised by the number of people (pilots and non) who I have talked to in the last couple months that suffer from high BP. It seems like it would be a whole lot better to have it as open discussion rather than trying to hide it from an aviation medical examiner. For me the reality was better to accept the possibility of a stroke or heart attack than to have a medical pulled by the regulator.

Sample Resume
Here's what I've been working on these last few weeks. While most resumes I see during the role screening each bring their strength or uniqueness, I also find that there is often things that will quickly turn me off: Tell me your story: Your experience matters, and I want to know where you are coming from, what drives you, and why I should hire you over the guy who has more hours or comes with a type rating. Large tables full of hours, down to the nitty gritty. The truth: I want to see a few things only, and the mix of the below will tell me more than enough. I honestly don't read "cross crountry" time. 1. What kind of real world experience do you have? 2. Do you have multi engine time? 3. Do you have JET time? 4. Do you have COMMAND time? 5. What else do you have in your toolbelt aside from time at the yoke? Your experience:Please don't make me scroll all the way down to see where you are working NOW. Recent at the top, oldest at the bottom! Finally, how do you keep yourself growing professionally? What is your education, or how do you continue to learn? That's really it! :) 💡Check out the course if you want to take the deep dive, or just download the sample resume and start playing around https://www.skool.com/the-global-life-4301/classroom/9415d577?md=262b98f0483149f48474a05d298c0bb4 🎁 As a bonus, try out this little bot. Either let it interview you, or upload your current resume and see what you come up with! Would love to hear your thoughts! https://pilotres-fnes7r.manus.space/?code=QrS6PAEe7JQ83VfKYDt2Jz

@Jean Denis Marcellin the biggest thing for me is that a resume gets about 30-45 seconds on my screen. If I can’t quickly scan it and find the relevant information I need in that timeframe, the resume will often be overlooked. Relevant times and information such as CPL/ATPL, Iatra/SAMRA/SARON, passport/visa held, specific endorsements or training etc need to be at the top in a clear and concise format.
