Assignment #4: Tribute to Toscani
I really like the idea of creating a new self portrait, but one week is too tight for me to really pull off a nice idea (especially with a sneezing and coughing kid at home) 😒
I wanted to use this weeks topic to share a self portrait which I haven't shown in public yet. It was part of an assignment during my time at photography school to "recreate a famous portrait to be as close as possible to the original (style, lightning, props, ....)". Also, we should then create our own version. The assignment was not about self portraits, but it seemed a great opportunity to get a decent picture of myself (see the third image, where I recognise myslef the most) 😁
Here is the original as reference: https://artemest-cdn.myshopify.com/cdn/shop/files/r0mlrrfvsj3idzz4a7xn80axvpak.jpg?width=1920 (my SX-70 has a build in Sonar-Autofocus, so I did not put a flash on it, too).
It was a fun excercise! Maybe also a topic for another assignment!
