“‘Behavior is communication.’
Okay… but what happens when the communication becomes unsafe? When a child is hitting.Throwing chairs.Hurting peers.Hurting staff.Destroying classrooms.Constantly dysregulated. Do we continue decoding the behavior?Do we increase support?Do we set firmer boundaries?Do we remove the child from the environment? Can all of those exist at the same time? This is one of the hardest conversations in Early Childhood Education because safety and compassion must coexist. What are your thoughts?”

🌟 OUSM Framework Introduction
Many educators are told to “manage behaviors,” but few are taught how to intentionally support children who may need additional developmental, communication, emotional, or sensory support. At Pattikakes Preschool Consulting, we use the OUSM Framework: 🔍 Observe🧠 Understand🤝 Support📊 Monitor This framework helps educators move beyond reaction and toward intentional teaching, structure, and meaningful support. Because every behavior is communication, and every child deserves support with dignity and understanding.

Controversial question
Is it the parent’s responsibility or the school responsibility to teach and/or discipline your child?
Welcome to the Collective
Hello everyone, Thank you for joining our community. As much as I appreciate you being here, I want to hear from you. So please take the time to post something, if I get enough responses. I may go live so we can discuss our students, our children, and their development. Here’s something to think about, comment on, and respond to who are children’s forever teachers?
