Gratitude Goes A Long Way
One of the most significant insights I have gained through the difficulties of my life has been the power of gratitude. I have especially found it helpful when life was really hard. Have you ever had moments when you thought you couldn't crawl over the finish line of something hard? You are not alone.
In moments of my greatest challenges, I have sought ways to be thankful. Let me keep it real though. I am also honest (with God) about my sadness, frustration, anger or disappointment with the things that happen. I am very direct when I talk to God because that is what a real relationship looks like with Him. Since He doesn't have the ability to be disappointed (He knows what I am going to think, say, and do at all times), I can pour out where I am regardless of what I am feeling. The good news is He can handle it.
I don't expect everyone to share my faith but what I know is this:gratitude is one of the most researched and validated mindset shifts we have. It measurably improves mental health, rewires the brain, lowers stress, strengthens relationships, and is even associated with longer life.
I am thankful for each of you in this community. I am grateful you are teachable, caring, open, and growing. I am deeply touched by how you care for each other in such an honorable way. It is a privilege to walk along side a group of people who are hungry to be the best version of themselves!
