Budget Les Paul Upgrade
First Les Paul-style upgrade project in the books.
Started with a Grote LP and decided to take it a step further with some functional upgrades. Swapped in Epiphone pickups, full-size Epiphone pots, and upgraded the bridge and tailpiece. Also installed Guyker locking tuners and went with gold hardware across the board to clean up the overall look.
Biggest difference is definitely in the electronics. The full-size pots and pickup swap made the response feel a lot more open and usable compared to the stock setup. It already played decent out of the box, but now it feels much more dialed in.
Also threw on a fresh set of Elixir 10–46 strings from OmniGuitars. First time using them on one of my builds, so I’ll be putting together a proper review after some playing time.
Still finishing up a couple small details, but overall I’m really happy with how this one turned out.
