To all of the year 11 students - Today marks the start of your final lap before GCSEs. It is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. They key to success this year isn't cramming everything in the last minute - it is organisation and consistency.
Tips for both parents and students:
- Set up a simple weekly planner - block out school hours, homework slots, rest time, revision and 'you' time
- Break subjects into manageable chunks (20 minutes works well - see retrieval practice I have mentioned before)
- Build in rewards - finishing a session deserves a small win
Remember: winners don't wait until exam season to get organised. They start today! Small, steady steps will make year 11 less stressful and far more successful!
For those starting back at school today, I wish you a smooth transition and I hope it goes well.
Here's to making every Wednesday (and every day) count! ☺️
