I was already quite aware of the issue of microplastics, thanks to Gittermary Johansen, a content creator I follow who focuses on environmental awareness and the impact of various productions.
But I had never analyzed it specifically from the perspective of fertility. This documentary is based on the research of Dr. Shanna Swan, an epidemiologist who has been raising awareness about the link between microplastics and infertility for over 20 years.
