🧩 Split Nail Fixes
What’s your go-to trick for a client with a split/torn/cracked natural nail - silk wrap, overlay, or “sorry, let’s wait it out”?
🧬 Genetics vs Care
Do you believe strong nails are mostly genetic, or mostly about good routines?
Choosing products and services for clients
Im currently working on a troubleshooting issues education pack but i thought i would start the convo here now! Have you heard the term “prescriptive manicures” Sooo many factors come into play when choosing what type of product for your client, and these factors change too! So how do you find the right product for your client, if your new or training i suggest looking at what systems suit you and you enjoy doing, not every system is for every client and that’s ok! Its easy to think you need everything for everyone but you are better to know more about a little than a little about a lot ESPECIALLY when starting out, perfect your art then begin to add 💚 So many factors impact the retention and compatibility for your client these include but are not limited to: • lifestyle • employment type • skin and nail type • medications • hormones! • weather And there are so many more So if your having any issues with a client have a play around with different applications, primers, aftercare and products. Because just cause something didn't work a few months ago doesn't mean it wont now! What are some things you have found that work? 👇
🧤 Seasonal Nail Changes
Do your clients’ nails behave differently in winter vs summer?
Have you tried these little bumps? 💅
I saw one of my chronic skin-pickers today and I’m so excited to see that the little “fidget bumps” looked like they’re working for her! Not my original idea - another nail tech put me onto the idea of the small raised bumps near the areas of skin most prone to being picked at. It’s supposed to satisfy the urge. 🌻 My client was a bit skeptical, so we only tried it on the one nail at her last appointment, and there’s definitely an improvement in the skin around that nail! I’ve attached photos of her other fingers to give an example of how the thumb was looking before. This time we put bumps on all the affected fingers, and I’ll be seeing her again in 3 weeks to see if they’ve worked all around! Has anyone else tried these? 💛
