Hi everyone! I am beyond excited to open the doors to this space. Please visit the "START HERE" course in the classroom section to learn about how this space works x Then, let’s break the ice! Drop an intro below 👇Tell us: 1. Your name + where you’re based 2. How long you’ve been doing nails 3. One nail skill you’d love to master this year 4. @Amber Langley Welcome Amber 🥳 there are heaps of nail art tutorials in the space already (with more to come). Sometimes they're even done on lives, so you can hop in and ask questions 🫶. If you ever have any requests, just shout. I'm sure one of our lovely members would love to help and create something for you!
Abalone (Pāua) Shell Tutorial 🐚
Here is a tutorial on how to achieve an abalone shell look 🫶 very trust the process 😆 If you don’t have a black gel that works well with chrome, you can apply a coat of black gel polish, cure - then a coat of top coat and cure for 30 seconds. You should have success with that 😊✨

@Chloe Payne oooh, yes please! I was thinking about how to make the sections "bigger", if that makes sense. And maybe more bright of a blue? 🤔 I'd love to see what you gals come up with 😍
Stamping
I'd love to unlock stamping! I can't seem to get it right. I tried using pat pat gels and just have cheap shein stamp plates. Is that my problem? Also, where can I purchase a large rubber stamper from that covers a L - XL nail? Thank youuuu xx

I've got all the stuff for it, I just chucked it in a drawer and forgot about it. But I will dust it off and start playing with it again so we can see if we can figure it out 🫶

I do know some plates are better than others, some aren't etched deep enough, and that sometimes causes transfer issues. But there are definitely some good ones from the cheaper sites. Patting gel - haven't tried it for stamping, to be honest 🤔. I *think* they could work? But that may be formula-based. To be fair though, you're probably better off getting the stamping polishes. They have fast-drying formulas that'll be better at capturing fine, intricate details cleanly without shrinking or shifting on the stamper. Gels tend to pool, self-level, and blur fine lines, making them much harder to pick up and transfer.
Builder gel application on short square nails 💅
Just a quick demonstration of my technique when applying builder gel to a natural square nail. Unfortunately, I didn't realise I wasn't recording the live until I put the hand in to cure. 🙈 One thing I forgot to emphasise in this demonstration was the importance of trying achieve a uniform thickness on the free edge of the nail. That is why I refine it with a file + buffer in the end, so there are no sides or corners of the nails that are "heavier". I want it to be evenly balanced

@Karen Fletcher May I ask why you apply rubber base between the builder gel and gel polish? 🫶

@Cat Tortorice sorry for the delay on this! So with the inhibition layer, you definitely can get to a point where your application is so well done that you technically can just go straight from cure to gel polish. I still choose to, purely for application preference, because the tacky layer can sometimes create friction, making it harder to smoothly glide your gel polish brush without streaking. 🫶 for the skin contact when doing your own nails - practice 😂. It is really tricky to do application and hold your skin back single-handed unfortunately. But you'll definitely get there with time. To this day I still do it from time to time, those little cotton-tipped sticks are the best thing to happen to my career 😆
Acrylic Nail Educators 💅
Hey everyone! Hope your week has been treating you well 🎉 I'd love to get more acrylic nail techs in here to help those looking for support with acrylic. I've created a post for the IG feed, if you get a minute, could you please go tag some of the acrylic techs you'd love to see in the space 🫶 If they see there is an interest for having them in the community, they'll be way more likely to want to get involved - and there's only so much impact I can have as one person 😅 Thank you so much! Have a rad rest of your day 🌻 https://www.instagram.com/p/Dazcuzik2TP/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
