Greetings of Morocco
Salam everyone 👋 Let’s start with something you can say right away. No difficult sounds or tongue gymnastics. Your first Darija greeting 😄 🇲🇦 Salam (sa-LAAM)👉 Hello / Peace This is the most natural and universal greeting in Morocco. You can use it: When entering a shop, when meeting friends, when greeting neighbors, and basically anywhere! If someone greets you with Salam, you can simply reply: Salam 🙂 Yes, that easy. Want to sound extra natural? You might also hear: Salam 3likom (sa-LAAM ʿLEE-kum) 👉 Peace be upon you. Reply with: Wa 3likom salam 👉 Peace be upon you Don’t worry about the "3" sound yet — saying Salam is already perfect. 🇲🇦 Cultural tip: In Morocco, greeting people is important. Walking into a place without saying Salam can feel… unmoroccan 😅 A simple greeting shows respect and warmth. And when leaving… You might hear: Bslama (b-sla-ma) 👉 Goodbye / go in peace. It’s warm, friendly, and very Moroccan. Try it in the comments! 👇 Write Salam and I’ll reply as a Moroccan! When end a post… you can say Bslama 😄 Bslama 🙌
