When Does a “Good” Obsession Become Detrimental?
i just wanted to get your thoughts on this. For example, I have such a love for animals, I would say I’m obsessed, which I think the majority of us are. I have always had pets, now 2 cats, have volunteered at shelters, etc. It’s a joy in my life. However, I find that my thoughts run deep and I have a hard time accepting the loss of any animal, including wildlife. If I see a wandering deer, first of all I panic it may get hit, then I think where’s his family and are they looking for him? I have bunnies and turkeys in my yard and I can only enjoy them to a point because I’m afraid they’ll be harmed. I humanize them because they have feelings like we do. However, I’m sure that deer’s mom and dad are not sitting at the dinner table waiting for their baby to come home before his curfew, yet these thoughts take up a lot of space! Now that you all know I’m teetering on the edge (🤪), do you have any advice to bring me back to some type of normalcy? 🐾♥️
