My Journey: The Crazy Things I Tried to Lose Weight (and What Finally Worked) 🙈💡
Hey You! I thought it’d be fun to start off by sharing some of the craziest things I tried in my quest to lose weight and feel better in my own skin. 🙃 Spoiler alert: They didn’t work, but they sure taught me a lot! Here are just a few highlights (or low-lights - depending on how you look at it): 1️⃣ The Cabbage Soup Diet 🥬 – Yep, I did this one. For a whole week, I lived on endless bowls of cabbage soup, hoping it would “detox” my body. Instead, I ended up feeling bloated, miserable, and so, so hungry. Turns out, sustainable weight loss isn’t about suffering through bland soup – who knew? 2️⃣ The Juice Cleanse 🍏 – I convinced myself that drinking only juice for days would somehow reset my body and rev up my metabolism. Long story short, I was tired, cranky, constantly cold and sooooo hungry. This “quick fix” only left me feeling worse. 3️⃣ Cutting Out Carbs Completely 🍞❌ – I thought carbs were the enemy, so I eliminated them entirely. While I initially felt good, I ended up feeling tired, foggy, and lost my energy to work out. It also threw my hormones into a tizzy and made my moods dark. It was only when I learned how to balance healthy carbs with protein and fats that I started to feel better. So, what actually worked? It wasn’t any of these fads or extreme measures. It was learning how to nourish my body, fuel my metabolism, and shift my mindset around food and how I approached long term success. Instead of trying to subtract everything, I started adding more of the good stuff – protein, fiber, healthy fats, and foods that made me feel satisfied and energized. And as if by magic (or at least that's how it felt at the time), that’s when I finally started seeing (and keeping) real results. 🌟 I’m sharing this because I know how frustrating it can be to feel like you’ve tried everything without lasting success. But here’s the thing you need to know, it’s not your fault! The diet industry sets us up to fail with unrealistic, unsustainable plans. I’m here to help you break stop that cycle, once and for all!
