When I started my journey, I felt overwhelmed by all the things I thought I had to do...cut out entire food groups, work out for hours a day, or give up everything I loved. Sound familiar? 😅
But here’s the surprising thing - the biggest shift happened when I made just one tiny change. 🤯 And it had nothing to do with restriction or willpower (because you need to know that restriction and willpower will eventually give way if we're depending on them to lose weight).
So what was this one simple change?
I simply started adding a high-protein breakfast every morning. 🍳🥑
In my old way of doing things, I tried A LOT of methods to lose excess weight. At one point I used to skip breakfast (aka intermittent fasting) every day. Before that, I used to grab something quick like a smoothie, a muffin or a granola bar.
In all these failed experiments though, I’d end up starving by 10 a.m., craving sugar, and feeling like I was on a blood sugar roller coaster all day. 🎢
So, I decided to try something new. Instead of skipping breakfast, I’d have a protein-packed meal like eggs, a protein fuelled smoothie or greek yogurt parfait (note that some of my easiest fastest high protein breakfasts are in my Midlife Metabolism Jumpstart Guide {download it here}. And the results were wild!
✨ I felt full and satisfied for hours.
✨ My cravings for sugar and snacks disappeared.
✨ I had more energy and focus throughout the morning.
✨ And the best part? I started losing weight without struggling.
The lesson here?
It’s not about making drastic changes all at once – it’s about finding small, sustainable tweaks that make a big impact. 💪
So, here’s my challenge for you this week: Try adding a high-protein breakfast each morning and see how you feel.
If you already do this, awesome! Share your go-to breakfast ideas in the comments – let’s inspire each other! 🥳👇
You don’t have to overhaul everything at once. Start with one small change and watch how it ripples out into the rest of your day.
Have you noticed any other small changes that made a big difference for you? I’d love to hear about them!
