snapshots in power bi premium

Hi everyone. im working with a client on a solution using power bi premium. They want a daily snapshot of the fact table. I have been trying to set this up for days and it just doesnt seem to append data to the partition. instead overwrites it. My pipeline is setup as follows:

apiIssue incremental refresh enabled - pulls data from jira. incremental refresh is working fine here only refreshing the data updated if the updatedDateTime changes and data gets appended providing multiple records per jiraId

dbIssue references apiIssue and does cleaning/transformations (no inc refresh enabled)

factIssue references dbIssue and removes any column not required for the fact table (no inc refresh enabled)

factIssueSnapshot references factIssue and has incremental refresh enabled refreshing 1 day and save data for 2 years based on a snapshotDateTime which is being added in this dataflow.

Its frustrating because you have to wait until the next day to test if it worked and it never seems to!
